Much of the honey on sale today has been altered at some stage. In fact, honey is the third most adulterated product in the market and the issue is a global one, affecting consumers, individual beekeepers and the industry as a whole. The result is that consumers are often paying for a product that has been adulterated, diluted or mislabeled and honest, ethical producers are suffering economically in the face of less ethical competition
